B stood in front of her dollhouse
She held in her hands
A blue wooden doll’s chair
And a red plastic knife

She put the knife through
The back of the chair
I don’t know why
Do three-year-olds need a why?

It was hard to balance the knife through
The back of the chair
So instead of a knife
I held a red plastic fork

I put the fork through
The back of the chair
And perched them on
My head, my shoulder

I held the fork in my hand
The chair hung from it
I held the fork between my teeth
And felt my lack of strength

An imitation?
More like an interpretation.
