This poem is a reflection on the sharpness of the mind and its double edge potential.
A keen rational might be constructive to analyse concepts, but simultaneously it can be the prison that holds oneself in the material world without connection to the divine nature of all things. Since the mind is a pointy tool like a fleuret rather than a sword, it can only focus on one thing at the time. Knowing this is the medicine to practice mindfulness and point the attention back inward and on the desired outcomes in order to connect with our divinity and creative powers.
Artist Statement
In the last years I have extended my creative practice to encompass not only visual arts but also writing, teaching, and social entrepreneurship. As a whole, I see the act of creation as an harmonization of patterns, sensations, and solutions within a form, materialized to reveal a unique perspective on a shared experience of life with the ideal goal of being of service to others. Service can take the shape of an emotional response, insightful advice, beauty, a widening of horizons as well as a pragmatic solution.
My gender transition in 2014 taught me tremendously about the Ego as a construct, the polarizing energies shaping us and the only constant of change and evolution. This personal transformation journey expanded beyond my physical identity into understanding new realms of consciousness and existence. Recognizing our prima materia and its origins became my main concern.
With my artistic work, I explore concepts of personal transformation and mysticism inspired by a contemporary understanding of mindfulness, spiritual philosophies, and alchemy. The art object thus seeks to transcend and materialize universal and timeless wisdom in a perpetual quest for truths. Through shadow work, divination and clairvoyance visions, my artworks are testimonies of my inquisitive journeys in the magical and paranormal. By integrating rationalism and modern psychology in my mystical path, I seek an equilibrium of polarizing approaches toward harmony.
This pursuit of the incarnated sublime results in a proactive celebration of the body, mind, and soul manifested for the quintessential fulfillment of all. My art aimed to be a vehicle of growth and to transport oneself to new realms of understanding and sensorial acuteness. By integrating writing, teaching and social entrepreneurship to my practice, I seek to nurture societal service and impact adjacent to beauty and dream.
