This project is an interactive webpage, an electronic component to Lettres Historiques et Galantes d’une Squeézie Berceau. The first two volumes of Lettres are in paper form, launched at the beginning of October 2025 at Volume 8 Mtl, Festival International du Livre d’Art”. The premise: to break the aesthetic silos and bifurcations of Ai art, algorithmic art, web art, regular art and literature. The means: skipping the past 300 years to energize up on the irreverence and daring of Anne-Marguerite Petit du Noyer, one of the first women journalists in France in the 1600’s, best known for her Lettres historiques et Galantes, first published in 1710.

Premise: To use Ai to code an interactive image of play and unexpected blossoming.
Elements:
Scrolling — scrolling up and down and up and sideways banging the margins ( not clicking) as a harbinger of action, an odd change mechanism, take note.
One main image — a photo of the cover page of Jean Paul Sartre’s Les Jeux Sont Faits flipped backwards. Les jeux sont faits — an expression used in games of roulette — to mark the moment when bets are placed, the gamble’s in play and the wheel spins.
Plus one minor image, a hummingbird as a measure of oddly unexpected, at times elusive pop up.
Plus a secondary main image of a dot screen commons or field.
And then, last but not least there’s the Ai as software tool — turned coding assistants — perhaps assistant non agent agency oh-dear-what-is-this-thing-called-agency — what is this thing called context — and memory — and fate and fuckery — may be more accurate (Gemini 2.5 pro & Chat GPT-5 )
Ethos: To embrace any and all things that may emerge. I know nothing about coding — the Ai is my guide — and fixer. I describe the elements, and the premise — scroll — wack the margins — flip, flicker and fly. I ask various Ai to use their judgements to make previous versions more robust; then also ask for small iterative changes, in effect changing my bets — the code outcomes of which are then passed onto Andres (curator and artist) to code into the Wrong webpage — which then you — the public — can play to new effect. Rinse and repeat four times. I’ve made an illustrated sketch to chart this serial play in text and code production.
