Water country

Nico

An echo of childhood distorted by present day labors, an ear worm of a water park jingle distorted by technocratic dreams and layered softly upon still, barely moving images, like baby birds either freshly born or on their deathbead.

I wanted to embelish this audio visual piece, adorn it with gems and hidden meaning and love and effort. But just as I am caught up in the capitalist rush of labor, I leave my piece for what it is, and find peace in it's "unfinished nature". To me it is a reminder of both creative outlet and a realistic journey through the world.

Sometimes you must see your products, your creations, your life stories, for the sub par things they are, never fully optimized, and still feel the full gratitude and admiration that they exist. Imagery consists of cement spreaders, ground meat, and the infamous jingle for New England water park "Water Country" where they repeat the phrase water country excessively for God knows why. For some reason, the anxiety and panic of such a thing soothes me.
